WEATHER - August has thrown up its usual bag of tricks, yet again another year and another week of high winds , heavy rain, cooler temperatures and stormy conditions. This week will have it all high winds coming from the West and the South for most part of the week especially Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures are around 16 - 19 degrees. Heavy rain predicted for Friday and into Saturday and rain into Sunday. Dryer for the early part of next week and moderate but lighter winds. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2648385?day=2) (https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/gcjqmsw80)

RIVER LEVEL and TEMPERATURE - .50 meters high and 8 Degrees (http://rloi.naturalresources.wales/ViewDetails?station=4121)
EXPECTED RIVER LEVEL OVER NEXT 72 HOURS - .50 meters - 1 meter

GORGE WALKING, CANYONING, GORGE SCRAMBLING CARDIFF AND SWANSEA PREDICTED REPORT - The rivers have gone from their lowest recorded water level to a high water level with recent constant rainfall throughout South Wales region. At the moment the rivers are a steady .5 meters high and with the extra rainfall predicted may get up to 1 meter. This would mean that Canyoning would be unsuitable for the weekend and the event may have to turn to swift water rather than gorge orientated. The Sychryd river will be high on the weekend but may be acceptable with a strong group for Swift Water gorge scrambling with instructed river crossings, rapid runs, plunge pool jumps. climbs, scrambles etc.

WIND -  High Westerly and Southerly winds for the next few days, 25mph Thursday, 35mph Friday, 27mph Saturday, 28mph Sunday. Winds will ease slightly the beginning of next week. The main direction of the wind all week will be West, South Westerly across the South Wales region.
SEA STATE and SWELL -  Very choppy stormy seas for the next few days with high Westerly and Southerly winds and big wind and ground swells in the Channel. Inshore and off shore will be stormy and blown out for most of the weekend and into next week.
SWELL and SURF FORECAST Thursday 15 August 2019 7ft / Friday 16 August 2019 9ft / Saturday 17 August 2019 8ft /Sunday 18 August 7 ft/ Monday 19 August 2019 7ft / Tuesday 20 August 2019 5ft / Wednesday 21 August 4ft / Thursday 22 August 2019

COASTEERING CARDIFF, SWANSEA, PORTHCAWL, CARMARTHEN PREDICTED WEEKLY REPORT - Not a lot to say again really, just No coasteering for the next few days in the local area. Big wind and ground swells, Big winds onshore in most places, volatile entrance and exit points. Not safe at all to enter onto the cliffs and rocks from the water for nearly all of the South Wales Coastline.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES CARDIFF, SWANSEA, PORTHCAWL, BRECON BEACONS, SOUTH WALES REPORT SUMMARY - One thing we can 100% predict is that there in No coasteering for the next few days. Need to head up to West Wales if you want to jump off the cliffs into the sea. The gorge areas are also on the higher levels but could be epic as they were through last week, lots of water running through the waterfalls, Canyoning on the higher levels is looking sceptical on Friday, Saturday and Sunday but Swift Water gorge scrambling could be superb on the lower Sychryd river. Surf is also looking good on certain beaches protected from the Westerly and Southerly wind and swells.

CONDITIONS REPORT UPDATE - The weather has settled from the storms previously observed, the rain has also been less frequent and severe, the rivers are now in perfect flow and the Gorge Walking and Canyoning activities are looking perfect with conditions and river levels at there best levels for some time. the wind is still quite strong and the swell if around 3 foot but dropping through the week. May have a possibility for Coasteering on the weekend.
