GORGE WALKING, GORGE SCRAMBLING, CANYONING CONDITIONS REPORT 08.01.2020 - Rivers are changing this week with rain predicted for the next few days. Rivers will rise on the Sychryd and the Mellte from .45 meters up to over 1 meter and possibly settling around .8 meters depending on the amount of rain over the next few days. This will affect Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling and Canyoning. As the rivers rise the top Mellte river will rise rapidly and possibly cancel out the Canyoning event. Gorge Walking and Gorge Scrambling should be accessible up to one meter of water with experienced guiding and only in certain parts of the river. Updates will be issued as the rivers start to rise.
COASTEERING CARDIFF, SWANSEA, PORTHCAWL, CARMARTHEN PREDICTED WEEKLY REPORT 08TH JANUARY 2020 - No real change from las week, high South and Westerly winds and stormy conditions cancelling out any chance of coasteering for the next few days. Inshore coastal areas will see big sea surges, swells and unsafe coasteering conditions. Swell is up to 13 feet on some days and generally over 10 feet.
WIND - High Westerly and Southerly winds for the next few days, winds especially high on Thursday and Saturday up to 37 mph and also Tuesday up to 40mph. High winds predominantly Westerly and blowing through the channel.
SEA STATE and SWELL - Very Stormy sea states for most days especially Saturday and Tuesday with high South Westerly winds up to 40mph. Big Westerly winds will effect offshore and inshore conditions with stormy conditions and rough sea state all week.
