RIVER LEVEL and TEMPERATURE - .25 meters high and 7 Degrees (http://rloi.naturalresources.wales/ViewDetails?station=4121)

CANYONING, GORGE SCRAMBLING AND GORGE WALKING CLOSE TO CARDIFF AND SWANSEA PREDICTED REPORT - Could be epic for gorge walking events this week with the rainfall that is expected. Also the rivers could go into spate with dry land and heavy fall. All depends on the amount of rain that will arrive. River levels are still low at .25 but expected to go up to possibly .60 meters which may be too high for Canyoning, however this would be good for gorge walking and gorge scrambling on the Sychryd river. Another hazard for the event may be the debris that will occur due to the dry period and then heavy rain hall, this may bring trees, rocks and other debris into the gorge and rivers. Extra precautions must be taken when jumping into the plunge pools and traveling through the rivers. The land is also very dry at the moment but may take a decent amount of rain saturation which will be filtered into the rivers through the week.

COASTEERING NEAR CARDIFF, SWANSEA, CARMARTHEN PREDICTED WEEKLY REPORT - Coasteering will depend on the wind and swell as well as the tides this week. The definite no go days will be Saturday and Sunday with high winds and big swells predicted, the better day is looking like Monday with low swell and winds so could have great conditions. Wednesday and Thursday may be acceptable depending on the swell and the wind direction, caswell bay in Swansea may be the better option on these days in the more proteced bay area.
SURF CONDITIONS REPORT CARDIFF, SWANSEA, SOUTH WALES PREDICTED WEEKLY REPORT - Saturday is predicted to have the bigger swell but also the highest winds, this would mean heading to the more protected beaches in the area such as Coney Beach in Porthcawl and Caswell bay in Swansea. Wednesday and Thursday next week could be good on the incoming tides with a solid 3 foot swell.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES CARDIFF, SWANSEA, PORTHCAWL, BRECON BEACONS, SOUTH WALES REPORT SUMMARY - Canyoning, Gorge walking and gorge scrambling are the biggest events this weekend with the rivers in full flow and the waterfalls in the region cascading to their maximum. We have several groups attending the gorge this weekend including James who will be organising his Stag weekend in Cardiff and also Scott also on a stag party event staying in Cardiff. Coasteering will be cancelled in the area until next week and we will have to look at the wind and swell to make sure the surfing lessons are viable. Updates will be issued through the week to keep a constant track of the conditions Sea, River and mountain based.

UPDATES - 10th June 2019 the weather is looking very unsettled this week heavy rain and wind is forecast which could effect the gorge walking and Canyoning activities in the region. We are keeping a close eye on the river levels on the Mellte which will be crucial for the Canyoning. Coasteering however is looking good over the next few days with good wind, swell and tides allowing for good Sea conditions for the activity. 11th June 2019 and the weather is still very wet and the wind has turned off shore with the Sea State very calm on the Southerly facing beaches. Could be very good coasteering today with low swell and off shore winds. Rivers are still looking good with the group soaking up most of the rain fall. Surf in the local area across South Wales is not so consistent with low swells predicted but very clean waves.
