River levels are looking really good currently on the River Mellte in the Brecon Beacons, where our Gorge Walking and Canyoning activities are run. The ground is also saturated so the waterfalls will be flowing constant too, meaning anybody on one of these activities is in for a great day of challenging fun.
The weather forecast is looking good across the weekend, we're even due some sunny clear skies on Saturday with some pretty mild temperatures too. With the current river levels good quality safety equipment and a knowledgable guide are as important as ever, so do not enter the water unless you have all of the required equipment and are experienced in Gorge Walking or Canyoning.
As always, keep an eye for any changes in the weather as any significant or prolonged rainfall could lead to flash flooding on the rivers.
GORGE WALKING, GORGE SCRAMBLING, CANYONING IN SOUTH WALES UPDATE 24.03.2017
The weather has turned out fine in the mountains but there are high winds predicted, the land is quite sodden so the rivers will be flowing but only grade 2 levels so good all round for Gorge activities in the South Wales area. The winds will be cold so make sure you wear the right protective clothing for the mountain activities.
The swell is set to be low this weekend and the weather clear and sunny. The only spanner in the works is the wind, which is set to be pretty strong across both Saturday and Sunday along the South Wales coast this weekend.
The saving grace is it's set to be Easterlies and Northerlies, so there is a chance, if you can find a beach that has enough protection of a Coasteering activity running but it is critical that you only attempt this if you are with an experienced guide who understands the area, weather and conditions. Full, good quality safety equipment is vital too.
With the current river levels up in the Brecons, you may be better heading there as the current conditions are almost perfect for Gorge Walking or Canyoning so why not take advantage of those.
COASTEERING UPDATE 24.03.2017
Swells are still quite low but the winds are biteing North Easterlies, conditions should be good for coasteering across the region close to Cardiff and Swansea, water temperatures are low, so this will be a cold event for all taking part.
Not looking great for your surfers in Cardiff, Swansea or Porthcawl this weekend unfortunately. The swell is small, but there's some pretty strong winds so hardly inviting for a surfer.
Why not take this opportunity to try out some different, water related outdoor activities instead? As we've mentioned above, conditions on the rivers in the Brecons look like they're going to be ideal for Gorge Walking or Canyoning, so that's where we'll be looking to head.
We've got the usual mix of Stag Do’s, and Hen Parties from Cardiff and Swansea this weekend and they look like they're going to be in for a real treat. Most of our activities this weekend will be focused on Gorge Walking and Canyoning and with the river levels and weather all looking to come together for them we're sure they'll have an experience that will stay with them.
We're still taking bookings for this season but places really are filling up so give us a call today and we can talk you through the options and packages to make your Stag Do, Hen Party, Birthday Party or any other event one you'll remember.
