Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning near Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales: There is only one word for the conditions in the mountains and the rivers at the moment and that is PERFECT! The rainfall has been steady and constant the last couple of weeks, the ground is saturated with the rainfall, the rivers are flowing perfectly throughout the region and the conditions for all Gorge Activities including Canyoning, Gorge Walking and Ghryl Scrambling is Perfect. The water as always is cold so the need of wetsuits, BA's and Helmets is required as well as the right footwear for the mountainous terrain.
Coasteering near Cardiff, Swansea in South Wales - The conditions are looking good throughout the week, the only problem may be the build up of sand on the jump areas especially in Ogmore where there has been big swell conditions just recently. The wind is down and the swell is low so could be good conditions thoughout the week, Swansea areas such as Caswell Bay are looking very good as long as the wind and swell keep down and stay in the right direction. The sea temperature is low at the moment still around 10 degrees but increasing daily.
Surfing and Surf Kayaking across the South Wales region with beaches such as Llantwit major, Coney Beach, Rest Bay, Aberavon and Caswell bay are definately hit and miss this week. There is swell around but effected by the wind and the tide. The best conditions look towards the end of the week into next weekend with a bigger swell forecast, but with this may come stronger winds so keep an eye on the weather as usual.
We have a full programme of activities this weekend again, Peter and Lee are both with us Gorge Walking and Canyoning on their Stag Weekends in Cardiff. The boys will be staying in Cardiff City centre then with us for their activities on the Saturday in the mountain region. We also have Catherine and her family with us Canyoning in the brecon Beacons later in the week and as you can see conditions look perfect.
