Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea, Brecon Beacons Conditions Report 17th May 2021 - The rivers are quite high again this week with constant rain over the weekend and rain predicted for the rest of the week. Gorge walking, Gorge Scrambling and Canyoning events are all suitable at the moment however Canyoning is looking close to being unsuitable and rivers will have to be monitored constantly to check river levels for the gorges. River levels are at .54 meters and realistically if the level goes over .6 meters the canyon would be unsuitable. Gorge levels can go higher however not to high as this would mean unsuitable river levels, constant river level monitoring is essential to gauge the suitability of the gorge events this week. Coasteering Cardiff, Swansea, Porthcawl, South Wales predicted weekly report 17th May 2021 - Unsuitable conditions for coasteering this week. We are going to be facing high winds and large swells especially over the weekend and the days running into the weekend. All coasteering sites close to Cardiff and Swansea will be affected as the wind and swell hits the area. The only possibility of coasteering may be in West Wales on the more protected inshore areas.
